With language skills spanning from modern ILE and free-form RPG back to RPG/400 and COBOL, Jeff excels in maintaining older RPG applications as well as updating them for integration with other applications or open source languages such as PHP.
Having written many “AS/400” applications over the years and shepherding them through the changes necessary to support new IBM i UIs and other integrations, Jeff is skilled at:
- maintaining legacy RPG applications to ensure they continue to run reliably,
- modernizing IBM i business logic to support new APIs or UIs,
- converting older RPG into RPG Free to reveal the underlying business logic to younger developers.
He also works with organizations that have chosen to transition to other platforms to help leverage their previous IT investment.
In his spare time, Jeff likes to travel, play racquetball and golf, and follow his favorite sports teams.
