Specializing in IBM i integration and modernization, Jack draws on over 40 years’ experience in application development to help clients marry disparate systems into efficient business solutions.
Jack has earned IBM Champion status each year beginning in 2021 in recognition of his community contributions on both the IBM i and IBM Q platforms. He is a member of the COMMON Americas Advisory Council, a frequent speaker at COMMON and other technology forums, and an occasional blogger.
Throughout his career, Jack has been an active contributor to open source and free software. He developed an open source language, Ublu, to enable remote control of IBM i from any modern Java platform.
Earlier, while maintaining a full-time career as a developer and development director for 20 years, Jack was also a Contributing Editor to Dr. Dobb’s Journal. Jack began learning about Quantum Computing around 2000, writing extensively about this exciting new field. When IBM opened their IBM Q project to the public in 2016, Jack signed up. In 2019 he was named an IBM Qiskit Advocate.
Jack currently runs Softwoehr LLC, an independent consultancy, working primarily with Seiden Group and Absolute Performance, Inc.
