Getting Started with Code for IBM i: A Lunch & Learn Video

On October 29, 2025, Alan teamed up with Susan Gantner and Jon Paris for an educational Lunch & Learn focused on two timely IBM i development topics: VS Code for i and RPG arrays.

Alan’s Code for i session, featured below, provides a 40-minute hands-on tour of the popular IDE. He highlights useful functionality in the Db2 for i extension, demos several of our team’s favorite features for faster RPG and open source development, recommends additional extensions for IBM i developers, and explores its AI support. He also describes hands-on VS Code training for SEU and RDi users and ongoing professional support to keep IBM i teams up-to-date and productive with Code for i.
